If you’re looking for an inexpensive way to mount your sheds or harvested deer antlers, Mountain Mike's Reproductions has the answer. Recently we here at Outdoor Answer were fortunate enough to harvest several nice bucks during our 2011 season. As all hunters we had to decide what we wanted to do with our antlers. We quickly decided that these deer were nice and we were happy with them, however we were not going to have them mounted. We all decided to go with a European mount.
After hours of debate on the way home from our hunts we decided to do the quick and none messy ways of the European mount. That is when Mountain Mike’s came to mind; Pro-Staffer Don, had several years ago used this product on a deer he had harvested in Alabama. Don recalled that it really wasn’t that difficult and he liked the way the mount turned out. Enough said, Mountain Mike’s it was.
I recently took my 2011 PA. harvested buck and mounted it using Mountain Mike’s Reproductions. Here is how I rate this product.
- Price range: 4 /5 I would like to see this product under 30
- Ease of use: 3.5 /5 There is some skill here, and you need to be careful on the drilling
- Outcome: 4 /5 Hay this is not the same as the real thing, but it looks nice
Final comments: This product is great and I would recommend it to others. Just remember you will need to be very careful and focused. Also remember this is not something you would want to do with a true harvested record breaker. Nice for your typical harvested buck or some sheds.
